Easy Platform Bed Programs - Your Final Guide

Tuesday, May 25th, 2010

Selecting a bed to use for your bedroom isn’t simple as it appears.  If this is not your first time to buy one, this should not come as a surprise.  There are plenty of points to think about.  You want to take a look at the look of your room.  You also need to look at its size.

Even the simplicity of transporting them or moving them around must be considered.  Sometimes, it is hard to find the perfect one.  If you experience this, you might want to think about making your own platform bed.

A platform bed is not very difficult to make.  You can follow simple bed plans that don’t need lots of skills in carpentry.  With some background in taking dimensions, cutting wood and battering with a hammer, you can already make a basic platform bed.  Some talents in polishing wood and applying paint can also come in handy.  If there is an area you really know nothing about like cutting wood for instance, you can ask the help of a local carpenter.

Simple platform bed plans need not have the usual parts of a bed like a footboard and a headboard.  A leveled surface raised by 4 legs to support the mattress is all that is required.

To start you have to know the measurements of the room.  Study how much of the space can be allotted for the bed.  Then choose the materials you’ll use.  There are numerous types of wood that you can find in a hardware store.  Just ask the sales clerk which one you can simply cut with a saw and put along with a hammer and some nails.  They will be more than prepared to help you.  There are even stores that can cut the wood for you if you have got the measurements in hand.

An easy platform bed can easily be changed into a rather more intricate bed later on if you find the need to.  You are able to add a footboard and a headboard.  Some straightforward platform bed plans have provisions for these accessories for future improvements so adding them should not be a difficulty.

Where To Find Wall Mounted Wine Rack

Wednesday, July 15th, 2009

If you are handy, and have always wanted a wall mounted wine rack, you  can easily build your own, cause this is indeed a very easy job to do.

You can make a wall mounted wine rack easily by using an old  kitchen cabinet. Purchase an one cabinet at a garage sale or perhaps use your  own old cabinet if you have one.

Simple  Steps to Creating Your Own Wall Mounted Wine Rack:

* Start by pulling out the door off of cabinet. Don’t forget to  take any brackets and shelves as well out of the cabinet.

* Find out how many shelves your wall mounted wine rack should  have by measuring the height of the cabinet.

* Use a saw to cut shelves for your wine rack. Make a back and front for  each shelf.

* You  need to drill 1″ holes to create the nect holders in the center of the board.  Find out how many bottles of wine will fit accross the width of that cabinet.

* You need to repeat step 4 for the rear shelves. This time use a  4″ hole cutter. These shelves will go in the back of your rack.

* Use a paint and stain to finish the  shelves and the cabinet.

* When your paint and stain is dry, then it is the time for you  to assemble the mounted wine rack.  To  mount the shelves in the front and in the back, you can use the brackets of  your cabinet.

* Once everything is in place you will be able to mount your wine rack  on the wall.

Put your favorite wine bottle in  your new wall mounted wine rack. Your friends and family will be impressed with  your creation, and you’ll feel proud of yourself. Perhaps you want to  celebrate it by drinking your syrah wine.

Pretty  soon everyone will be asking how you made such a gorgeous piece out  of an old kitchen cabinet. Who would think a new wine glass racks was actually made from  kitchen cabinet?
