Eight Foot Billiards Table:  92″ x 46″

The nine-foot and the eight-{ft.foot} tables are the single sizes that are formally authorized for tournament biliards play by the World Pool Billiard Association.

The pockets of the billiards table are available in either in plastic or leather. Various tables can have pockets made out of leather to grab the balls. But the coin-operated pool tables in pool pubs and bars frequently have runs built into the table to return the balls to one end of the table.

The bed of the pool table (as enforced by the WPA for tournament contests) has to be comprised of slate that is one inch thick. Pool tables for private use can be less than one inch thick. And at times supplementary kinds of materials can be used, like man-made types of materials, or wood. In the best brands, although, most of them yet use 1″ slate for the bed.

Markers are used around the edges of the billiards table (named) where to view the pool balls in the direction that you want it to go. The markings could also be named diamonds. Most often they are utilized for kick or bank shots. There are 6 diamonds on each longer side rail that split the area into equal areas. This area is great for lining up your shots.

Areas called spots will be used to label where the head and the foot are. There will be an area designated for racking the balls. Sometimes there are even lines embedded on the playing surface to lay out grids for playing pool.
