Incorporating Traditional And Contemporary Furniture

Written by admin on April 14th, 2010

Our personal inclination varies depending on our gender and age. Usually our home is filled with furniture that has different styles and themes. Some were given by our parents and some were the ones that were bought just recently. Our home would seem like an enormous contrast of different styles. It’s actually fine to mix both styles and themes. We can make a different kind of individualized room when these furnishings are mixed. It’s all about furnishing our home with our personal approach, rather than designing it with just one style then in the end we’re not fulfilled. Having a classical and traditional theme for our home is a great idea. Contemporary furniture alternatively are equally great with traditional furniture. We all like to have our preferred furnishings be included in our home. Though there are chances that it would result into a massive chaos if not planned properly. Let’s focus on the following before we decide to mix both styles:

* First we have to figure out what we want. Think about our rooms with modern furnishings; afterwards try to visualize the space with traditional furniture.

* We have to figure what style should dominate. If the room’s wall color matches great for modern style, we may place the modern furniture there.

* Now, spend a time to look at the exterior of the furniture. We should know if the style would fit in our personality. We can spend time as much as we need to in making a decision of what color, decoration and texture.

* It is ideal that we make a note of the details of the furniture so it won’t be hard for us recalling the looks of the furniture when we are making a comparison and deciding.

* Keep in mind that a room with harmony provides a restful look. So it’s better that our furniture complement or more alike. For example, a nice Aico Amini sofa will look good with American Drew sofa table and end table. These are both made of wood and that is their linking factor though the one is classical and the other one comes with a modern style. After we’ve summed up the furniture we like, what follows is the arrangement of the furniture. Just bear in mind that either way we place the furniture, it is best that it won’t be difficult to access. It is better that it suits precisely in their places and won’t be a hindrance.
