I wouldn’t expect wooden garden furniture to last very long at all, certainly it would be looking shabby after two years.

Wooden garden furniture that is made from hardwood, and that isn’t mass produced and is constructed properly with mortice and tenon joints, is certainly value for money as it will last for years without the need of repair.

Wooden furniture of this kind is obviously more expensive than the flat packs, but it can last for many, manys years, over 20 years is not uncommon. Garden furniture of this kind is usually delivered whole and ready to use, so there’s no need to try and work out any complicated instructions as you would get with flat packs.

Hardwood can withstand the elements far more than softwood which is why when you are buying wooden garden furniture make sure that it is made from a hardwood such as Teak or Iroko as it will last you far longer than any softwood would do.
